Do you have the courage to ask yourself why you like poker?
It could be the challenge, the money, social interaction or gambling, or simply the love of playing the game.
You may play poker for many reasons, not just money or fun. Are you serious about improving your poker skills? Are you serious about improving your IDN POKER skills?
People believe that if you practice enough, you will eventually improve. Although this may be true, dominance and excellence require more than just practice. You will not be able to get to the place you want to go unless you know what you are trying to accomplish. There are many ways to achieve your poker goals. But if you don’t know what those poker goals are, you won’t be able to reach them.
While some people play poker for social interaction, others for money or to earn points in a poker league, how many have realistic goals that can help them improve their poker skills.
Personally, I don’t play as much, but I have found that I enjoy watching other players and writing blogs. Their banter is what I enjoy the most. It’s funny to see them trying to imitate the pros on TV. It becomes quite amusing. It can be quite amusing to see pride and ego get in the way. This is both fun and bad for many players’ fortunes.
However, I have goals whenever I get the opportunity to play in a tournament. Fun is what I consider the most important. It is a game I love and not something that should be a chore. Writing my blog is something I enjoy and helps me reach my goals. When I play poker, I want to make sure I’m enjoying it as well. It’s not a job, and I won’t ever look at poker that way. Some poker players lose sight of the fact that the goal is to win and improve, while others forget to enjoy the game as it is.
Second, I want to learn as much as possible about the game and my opponent. I want to improve my body language and learn as many poker tells possible. I have found that I have more fun when I’m in a mischievous mood. I search for people looking for poker tells, and try my best to trap them. When they think they know your tell, you can almost feel the light switch. It’s then time to play with them. Although it may seem cruel, this is half of the fun of reading people.
To reach smaller goals, I create challenges that I will face during tournaments.
One thing is certain: Those who know why they are there and what they want to accomplish are more likely to work to a plan. They also know how to make the most of the game. While you can use different strategies and tactics in poker, it is important to include a goal for poker in your repertoire.
It is often said that “if you fail plan, you will fail.”
Now is the time to set your poker goals and determine what you want from the game. To achieve your goals, you need to create a plan and implement strategies. It is not enough to say I want to make it to the final table. It is important to clearly state your plans to reach these goals. It is not enough to just think about it. Write down your goals and keep a log of them.
It may be useful to keep track of the results and tournaments you play in, as well as books that you have read or plan to read. Keep track of how much money you spend on improving your poker skills, in relation to entry fees and SNG money (wins or losses).
Only you can make it all happen. You can’t use the goals of others, and neither can you let someone else plan for your success. Now is the time to plan for your success. For so long, you can only blame your opponent’s bad play and luck.
